Cheeky Cat is one of the oldest pubs in Ireland. Renowned for being the loudest in the country, we are nestled in the peaceful township of Barry and surrounded by the beautiful scenery and serenity of the Woodlawn hills 25-35 minutes from Longford. Official signage is always bilingual, with the Irish version in italics over the English one. The only exception to this rule is in Gealtacht, or Irish speaking, areas in the North, where signs are in Irish only. Drawing on the tradition of the desert and upon his own experience, St. Benedict fashioned a monk´s way of life. Many Irish and English catholics joined this community before they left for France in 1817.
